Olight T20 Q5 is two CR123 battery based multi light level high quality LED flashlight. Olight T20 Q5 has high efficiency Cree XLamp 7090 XR-E LED for bright light output. Reflector used for Olight T20 Q5 is built from solid aluminium and has unique approach towards light beam management. The T20 Q5 has Microcontroller (µC) based electronics and drive circuit. The Microcontroller (µC) controls the light output based on users input signals. Olight T20 Q5 has five brightness settings, 1 signaling mode and SOS mode. The brightness settings are memorized after switch off. Brightness levels are controlled by head where as the switch ON/OFF, signaling and SOS mode are controlled by tail cap switch. Body of Olight T20 Q5 is built of aircraft grade Aluminium alloy with black color anodized type III hard coat coating. Hard coat anodizing provides protective coating over the aluminium alloy body and protects the light from wear and tear. The switch located at the tail cap end has black color rubber boot. Inside Olight T20 Q5, the battery contact spring at the tail cap switch end is gold plated ensuring good connectivity. There are O-Ring seals at various places for waterproofing. The lens of Olight T20 Q5 is of hardened glass type. Overall build quality of Olight T20 Q5 is very good. T20 Q5 comes with card board box packaging. Olight T20 Packaging includes means of attaching lanyard, extra O-Rings and extra rubber boot for tail cap.

Light Operation & Output:
Light Operation: Combination of click switch and head twist. For Switching ON / OFF use tail cap switch. Click once to switch on, click again to switch off. To change brightness levels, twist head anti clockwise and then again clockwise in quick succession.

Packaging: Olight T20 Q5 comes nicely packaged card board box. Inside the main card board box, there is blister type molded transparent container holding flashlight and accessories. The box has transparent window reveling the Olight T20 Q5 flashlight. The front side of box has mention of major features of Olight T20 Q5.

Size Comparison: Pictured below From L to R: Dereelight CL1H , Olight T20 Q5 and Fenix T1. Olight T20 Q5 is slim and smaller than the other two in comparison.

Another comparison From L to R: AW CR123 Battery, Olight T20 Q5 and AA Battery. As you can see the Olight T20 Q5 is about 4 times in length 0f CR123 battery.

Bezel Comparison: On the left is Fenix T1, in center Olight T20 Q5 where as on right is the Dereelight Cl1H. The reflector diameter is lesser than other lights in comparison. But the light output and range is fairly comparable.

Bezel: Let's have a closer look at the bezel of Olight T20 Q5. Cree XR-E LED is aligned perfectly in center. The reflector in Olight T20 Q5 built from Aluminium. One of the unique feature about this reflectors appearance half of the reflector is Light Orange Peel (LOP) where as the other half is smooth. Main advantage of this is it provides balance between throw and side spill. More over, usually the smooth reflector is associated with ringy beam pattern, but with use of half reflector as LOP in Olight T20 Q5 this issue is solved.

Body: Olight T20 Q5 is built from aircraft grade aluminium. Body is sandblasted to give a matt finish and has black color type III hard coat anodizing for protection from wear and tear. The built quality of Olight T20 Q5 is very good. The head and tail cap are designed in such a way that light will not roll off easily. There are 6 flat surfaces machined on head that prevents roll.

Battery tube has rectangular machined knurling like grooves that provide good grip.

Tail cap has means of attaching lanyard. Overall the construction of Olight T20 Q5 is fairly strong.

Components: Olight T20 Q5 consists of three main components, head, battery tube and tail cap. Head houses LED, reflector and electronics. Two CR123 batteries are easily accommodated in battery tube. There is no rattle of batteries yet enough space is there for free movement. Tail cap has switch with rubber boot.

Head: Here is a more detailed look at head of Olight T20 Q5. At the bezel end there are two circumferential rings machined to improve cosmetic appearance. The positive contact has disk soldered over PCB thus helping better contact with battery.

Battery Tube: Threads on battery tube of Olight T20 Q5 head end are not anodized. Threads at head end on battery tube take active part in conducting current. Threads are lubricated nicely. There is an O-Ring sitting behind the threads.

Beautifully machined band of rectangular 'knurling' on battery tube of Olight T20 Q5 offers very good grip. Battery tube has flat machined surface making a place available for laser engraving. Light model number, LED power, company name and company logo are laser engraved on the flat surface.

Threads on tail cap end of Olight T20 Q5 are anodized and well lubricated. There's the second O-Ring sitting behind the threads.

Tail cap: The tail cap of Olight T20 Q5 is anodized inside out. The body walls are thick indicating strong construction.

Negative contact spring on Olight T20 Q5 is gold plated.
