JETBeam Jet-1 Pro belongs to premium, professional, high quality and high output AA cell based focusable LED flashlight. Jet-1 Pro has premium R2 bin Cree LED. Jet-1 Pro is machined from aircraft grade aluminium. For environmental protection, Jet-1 Pro is coated with type 3 military grade hard coat anodizing. The black HAIII coating also provides superior corrosion resistance and high durability. Removable pocket clip comes pre installed with Jet-1 Pro. Inside Jet-1 Pro, there are multiple O-Ring seals at various locations in for water resistance. In fact, it meets IPX-8 standard for waterproof ness. Battery tube and other internal parts including threads are treated with corrosion protective chemical giving interiors a distinctive golden color. JETBeam Jet-1 Pro has 3 mode Microcontroller (µC) digitally regulated drive circuit, with three brightness levels in general mode and advanced mode has alarm signal & SOS signal modes. Smooth aluminium reflector is employed to assist focusing beam.

Light Operation & Output:
Light Operation: Simple, click switch. To change modes after switching on, press and release the tail cap half way before you hear the click sound in quick succession. When desired mode has arrived release the tail cap. Click switch used in JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is "reverse" click type switch i.e. you will hear a click sound before switch makes a contact.

JETBeam Commitment towards Quality: JETBeam Jet-1 Pro package includes RUIZHI Trading Co. certificate of authenticity and warranty. Each light having unique code and date of manufacture is printed on each card accompanying Jet-1 Pro. Also what's included are two spare O-Rings, tail cap rubber cap and lanyard attachment.

Reflector Comparison: On the left you can see LOP reflector in C-LE V2 and on right is the smooth reflector of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro. With Smooth Reflector the beam can be focused well by rotating the top portion of head. Advantage of smooth reflector is that it allows more throw as compared to LOP reflector, however, the disadvantage is that there are minor artifacts and rings in the beam.

Bezel: Reflector in JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is built from solid Aluminium. The reflector has smooth finish. Cree XR-E LED is perfectly aligned and centered within reflector. Lens protecting reflector is an artificial Sapphire crystal lens. Bezel ring appears to be built from brass. There is a translucent O-Ring protecting the Sapphire lens; it prevents water and dirt entering the lens assembly. Bezel ring, O-Ring, Sapphire Crystal lens and smooth aluminium reflector can easily be removed from the head of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro, should you require to service these components.

Body: JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is machined from Aircraft Grade T6061 Aluminium Alloy. The Machining work with JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is near perfect and without any flaws. The body of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro consists of 4 main parts; head housing lens assembly, Light module containing electronics & LED, battery tube and tail cap. The head has machined grooves that provide good grip. On the light module there is a ring of straight knurling. This arrangement basically helps in holding Jet-1 Pro body and twisting the top head housing the lens to adjust focus. The battery tube as well as the tail cap have attractive diamond-shaped knurling offering very good grip. On top of battery tube, "JET-1PRO, Professional series" is laser engraved identifying the flashlight model.

The tail cap which houses click switch has distinctive red rubber cap. As you can see from the the picture above and below, the edges on both ends of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro are chamfered. This actually is a very nice thing as it helps in reducing effects of erosion of HA III finish on the edges over time.

JETBeam Jet-1 Pro Head: Light module & bezel with reflector assembly. Tightening bezel over the light module on JETBeam Jet-1 Pro brings light in focus thus maximum throw, where as loosening bezel makes beam wider.

on other side of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro head, "Cree R2 LED" is laser engraved.

Cree R2 LED is installed on JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is distinctively different from other Cree XR-E LED's on one major aspect. Here only the die is coated with phosphor unlike the other Cree XR-E LED's.

The positive contact of Jet-1 Pro's head is gold plated spring that ensures good contact between battery's positive terminal and light module electronics.

JETBeam Jet-1 Pro battery tube has beautiful diamond shaped knurling. There is a O-Ring preceding tail cap threads.

Inner side of battery tube is coated with corrosion protecting chemical, it has a golden color appearance.

Depth of diamond knurling is just right to provide good grip. Threads have a unique square profile. Overall construction of battery tube of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is fairly strong with thick body walls.

There is a provision to attach lanyard or a ring on tail cap. As with battery tube, the tail cap also has a nice band of diamond knurling.

The beam of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is with very good hotspot providing excellent combination of throw and having good side spill. Here Beam shot Matrix shows JETBeam Jet-1 Pro at various levels with Sanyo Eneloop NiMH AA Battery. All beam shots are taken at f/8 aperture with varying shutter speed.

Focusing of JETBeam Jet-1 Pro: The the beam control and focusing arrangement with JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is done by means of tightening or loosing the bezel assembly. LED remains fixed and attached to body where as the reflector moves from maximum focus to wide beam. At maximum focus, JETBeam Jet-1 Pro achieves maximum throw. Jet-1 Pro has very effective beam adjustment. Here are two beam shots. First Beam shot for JETBeam Jet-1 Pro is at maximum throw where as second one is for widest beam. Both the beam shots are taken at same aperture and shutter speed to ensure fair comparison.

Alkaline 1: The runtime for JETBeam Jet-1 Pro with Energizer Alkaline on MAX light output is about 20 Minutes till 50%, relatively less, but considering the light output and inability of Alkaline battery to deliver high current, it sounds ok. JETBeam Jet-1 Pro 1 is not designed for Alkaline batteries.

Alkaline 2: Just to confirm, this is repeated runtime test for JETBeam Jet-1 Pro on Duracell Alkaline battery on MAX light output, here the light runtime is better by a tad margin at 22 Minutes till 50%.

NiMH 2100: 2100 mAh Sanyo NiMH battery was used to perform this test. The runtime for JETBeam Jet-1 Pro with 2100 mAh Sanyo NiMH on MAX light output is about 50 Minutes till 50%. As the runtime test seems to worry some users, another runtime test is underway with new NiMH Battery. At the same time rest assured that even with the existing runtime, comparing that with the total output, results are just outstanding.

NiMH 2100 2: A second runtime test carried out with newer 2100 mAh Sanyo NiMH battery. The runtime for JETBeam Jet-1 Pro on MAX light output is about 57 Minutes till 50%. Second test confirmed that with a better battery, runtime will be better for JETBeam Jet-1 Pro. Never the less the total output is just outstanding.
