Orb Wee NS is an attractive Nickel Silver Flashlight from Lummi. Wee NS is designed as a wearable high power LED flashlight. When worn, Orb Wee NS can easily be mistaken as a Jewellery Adornment. Powered by a very small rechargeable 10180 Li-Ion battery, Wee NS is one of the smallest, brightest and high quality flashlight. Wee NS has Cree XR E, Premium Q4 Bin LED as solid state light source. The Body is built of Nickel Silver, has O-Ring Seals for water resistance. The maximum output is around 50 Lumens. Orb Wee NS has very simple direct drive circuit, this offers very simple yet reliable operation. Orb Wee NS is designed to be one of the first wearable High Power LED (Every Day Carry) EDC light.

Size Comparison: This is one of the smallest High Power LED lights reviewed till date.

It's just about 3.5 cm tall.
Bezel: Reflector in Orb Wee NS is custom built Nickel Silver. It is integral part of the body. The reflector has a smooth finish. Cree XR-E LED is perfectly aligned and centered within reflector.
There are double O-Rings in bezel protecting recessed glass window.
Body: Wee NS is built from Nickel Silver. Nickel Silver(NS) is primarily a metal alloy of copper(65%), nickel(18%) and Zinc(17%). Orb Wee NS is machined out of solid NS Alloy Stock. The Machining is near perfect and without any flaws. Have a look at Extreme Closeup shots below.
The body consist of two parts. Main Body, which houses Glass Lens, Reflector, LED and Rechargeable Battery. To improve upon the grip, there are grooves at four equidistant paces machined on the body. Tail Cap which also acts as a twist switch. The tail cap has slots machined to carry Tritium Glow tubes.
As you can see, even though the light is small, the structural strength has not been compromised as all; the body walls are thick.

Inside the main body, you can see Cree XR-E LED and Copper Tab that acts as positive contact. There is a current limiting resistor hiding behind the copper tab. Since the LED is run at lower currents, there is no need for any additional heat sinking. The light will continue to operate smoothly without overheating. The dark circle in the tail cap is O-Ring which acts as a cushion and prevents accidental activation.

Beam Shots Orb Wee NS: Flawless beam with good hotspot providing sufficient throw and having equally good side spill. The overall beam quality for Orb Wee NS is excellent offering good hotspot, side spill and secondary spill illuminating wide area in front of the light. Looking at Orb Wee NS under the microscope, what a beauty! An example of true perfect machining and highest quality is on display. Here are a few extreme closeup shots.
Below two images show various sections of tail cap. Well machined Tritium Slot with tritium glow tube recessed perfectly.
High quality demands high attention to detail. Do you notice the chamfered hole and the light edges? Engraving of "Wee" is also well executed.
Moving towards the body, the body of Orb Wee NS is very finely machined. the groove for grip has soft edges allowing good grip, the light will not slip out of hands.
This image shows the bezel end of light. Again, notice the attention to detail, the bezel has is rounded. Combined with small size and Jewel like construction, this is a perfect candidate to be called as Jewellery Adornment.
Prior to performing the runtime test, 10180 Li-Ion battery was fully charged. The battery was given rest for 2 Hours to cool and settle down. Thereafter the runtime test for Orb Wee NS was performed. The runtime of Orb Wee NS to 75% is 14 Minutes, to 50% is 33 Minutes (3 Minutes more than manufacturer specified time of 30 Minutes) and to 25% is 36 Minutes. As you can see from the below runtime graph, graph curve has semi flat discharge curve characteristics. This is similar to a standard Lithium-ion battery discharge curve. It would be safe to call Orb Wee NS as a semi regulated flashlight.
