  Introduction:
LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 is CR2 Battery based programmable LED flashlight. This light is one of the 4 models of LiteFlux Beacon Serials flashlights Series from LiteFlux. as with other LiteFlux flashlights, LF4 is built from aircraft grade aluminium. LF4 has hard anodizing type 3 coating over the body for good environmental protection, corrosion resistance and durability. LiteFlux LF4 also have O-Ring Seals at various locations such as between bezel and lens and between battery tube bezel that provide good water resistance and prevent dust and dirt from entering inside the light. One of the unique features for the Beacon Serials flashlight along with LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 is a specially designed unique 2 stage twist switch. LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 has advanced drive circuit, with programmable Microcontroller (µC) offering great flexibility in operation and programming options. Like Other LF series, LiteFlux LF4 ships in beautifully packaged wooden gift box.

Light Operation & Output:
Basic Light Operation: Simple, Twist the tail cap 1/4th turn anticlockwise to turn on the light in low mode, twist more anticlockwise to enter high output mode. To turn off the LF2, simply turn the tail cap clockwise fully. For advanced operation, please refer to the user manual.

In-Depth Review & Pictures:
Package: LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 comes in a very beautiful wooden box with chamfered top edges. The company logo and name is laser etched on wood. The box has label identifying the product inside. If you are planning to gift this light, the box comes very handy.


Inside the box, you will find LiteFlux LF4 Flashlight, 3 Spare O-Rings, 3 Color Filters, Candle Mode diffuser, lube jelly (silicone based) in small container. It is very thoughtful of LiteFlux to include the silicone lubricant.

Bezel: Reflector in LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 is built from solid Aluminium. The reflector has smooth Finish. SSC P4 LED is perfectly aligned and centered within reflector. Even though the Reflector is smooth, the beam very has a very soft transition from Spot to Spill beam. There are no artifacts in the beam.

The Glass Lens of LiteFlux LF4 is AR Coated, you can barely see it in front of the bezel. To ensure that dirt and water does not enter the light from bezel, there is a o-ring seal between glass lens and the bezel body protecting LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4.



Body: LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 is machined from Aircraft Grade Aluminium. The Machining is good, without any flaws. The body is sand blasted and has hard anodizing type III coat for better wear and corrosion resistance. The body of LiteFlux LF4 mainly consists of 2 parts, head housing lens, LED, reflector & Electronics and the battery tube. The head has grooves machined providing good grip to hold and allowing easy twisting operation. The battery tube has machined slots allowing means of attachment either to key chain or to lanyard. There is a laser engraved dot on bezel determining the current position. This helps a lot when you need to know that you have to turn about 1/4 turn anti clockwise to turn on the light in low mode.

The body walls of LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 are relatively of good thickness indicating fairly good construction.




LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 Components: Showing from left to right, LiteFlux LF4 Head, AW CR2 Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery and battery tube. The threads are anodized, thus preventing wear and tear during operation. O-Ring placed behind threads on battery tube offers good water resistance.


Inside the bezel on left, you can notice the positive contact and special 2 stage switching mechanism. The battery tube shown on right has contact spring. The spring also prevents battery rattle in the tube.

Beam Shots:
Beam Shots LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4: Beam with good hotspot providing moderate throw and having very good side spill for medium distance and general illumination. The overall beam quality for LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 is excellent. Here is the Beam shot matrix comparing Low and High in default UI mode.

Candle Shots:
The 3 color filters accompanying LF4 SSC P4 work excellent. Here is a combined image with all filters, these images are borrowed from LF3, the light output is fairly similar to LF3.


The filters with diffuser can be used for mood lighting or even be useful in case of emergency.


Red and Blue filters used along with diffuser appear very pleasing.


Below is the Candle Shots Matrix showing LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 on Right and a real candle on Left. The Candle flame glow and Diffuser over LED have same height and are placed at about same distance from the wall. To better understand how they compare notice background on the wall. For instance, if you see the first left image, you would see that the candle has almost equal amount of light throwing on the wall as compared to LF4 SSC. Where as in second image, you wall notice that there is a considerable change, the LF4 SSC throws much more light on the wall as compared to the candle. This fact is more aggravated when shots are taken at different exposure compensation levels. (All images below are borrowed from LF3, the light output is fairly similar to LF3)

Runtime:
Here is the runtime chart for LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4. The runtime for LiteFlux LF4 SSC P4 with AW Li-Ion RCR2 on High is 45 Minutes until the battery protection kicks in. LF4 SSC Runs in good regulation and for the RCR2 battery runtime of over 45 Minutes is very impressive especially considering the total output of about 50 Lumens and use of rechargeable Li-Ion Battery.
